South Shore Montessori has a strong nutrition policy, with no cake, cokes, cookies, chips, or candy in the lunchboxes. Obesity is a major issue in children, and we strive to inform parents how they can decrease this risk in their children by paying attention to food labels and looking for food that does not have sugar in the first 3 ingredients. Added sugars have no nutritional factors beyond calories, and thus are not healthy for your child. If in doubt, ask. We will also do our part and send a note home if there is a question about any food your child consumes. The children pack their lunch in a lunch box/cooler daily.

Call us for more information on how your child can participate in our Pizza Fridays.
