About Us

South Shore Montessori is a nationally accredited American Montessori affiliated private school located in the heart of South Shore Harbour. We are just minutes away from Seabrook, Webster, Clear Lake, Houston, Galveston, and the surrounding area.

Our highly trained, professional staff encourage children ages 12 months through 6th grade to achieve their best.  Among us, our Montessori certified teachers facilitate learning in a hands-on environment filled with age appropriate Montessori materials that stimulate a child’s curiosity and allows for free exploration and growth.  Enrichment activities are offered through our wide range of programs where your child will experience the “Wonder of Learning that Builds a Future of Success”.

Though our students are infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary students, they are also artists, scientists, bakers, mathematicians, and storytellers.

Every child flourishes in our community.

Every child develops important skills, sets goals, and becomes a self-starter.  Children discover the joy of learning, and our low child/staff ratio provides plenty of time for nurturing, which is essential for a child’s whole development. They will have the attitude “I want to do that!”  Instead of “Do I have to do that?”

Every child will experience different cultures.

Every child will learn about the world through science experiments, and have fun while learning math, language, geometry and more. The Montessori program provides materials to stimulate thinking as children become problem solvers and independent thinkers.

Every child will learn about nature.

Every child will participate in concrete experiences, such as the study of fish, birds, and mammals. Our two large play areas allow room for exploration, socialization, and physical exercise. Included in this area is a garden for hands-on botany work where it is great to watch a child get excited about eating a vegetable that he has grown!

Every child will have doors open to the world.

Every child will learn about the world through our study of continents, flags, cooking, language, and clothing. We bring the world and its cultures to your child through cooking, art, and literature. Children have a “hands on” experience with landforms such as the “island and lake”, globes, maps, and local treasures.

Every child will build friendships at every turn.

Every child will build friendships as they work and play together. They benefit from mixed ages in the classroom. The older students become role models and lead the younger ones, who can’t wait to do what the older ones are doing. We strive for peaceful classrooms, where we talk out differences, learn to respect each other, and brainstorm solutions to problems.

Your child benefits from routine and consistency.

Every child benefits from the routine and consistency in our Montessori classroom. The curriculum provides a structure for your child with lessons in math, language, geography, geometry, science, and history. We get acquaint with Spanish, music, art, and computers.
